Depression and anxiety can appear in many forms. Sometimes it is a severe episode that traps you in a dark bedroom for weeks at a time, preventing you from functioning at work or from spending time with family and friends.
Other times depression and anxiety can be more subtle. It can be that low grade fever feeling- that you are just going through the motions, just getting by… Just not experiencing true joy or connection.
Depression and anxiety are difficult to overcome because they feed you a lot of lies, and over time those lies become your truths. Depression tells you that you are alone. That the world is not a worthwhile place. That nothing can change- and that you deserve to feel the way you do.
But none of this is true, and there are concrete steps you can take to debate these lies with both your thoughts AND your actions.
